The care and improvement of this historic property has been a labor of love for our family and everyone who has shared their talents with us.

This farm was owned for well over 100 years by the Sluder family. It was primarily a dairy farm, but they also grew crops including tobacco.

The farming on this land and the care of its animals is lovingly done by Gaining Ground Farm.

This land is home to various farm animals including a herd of Red Devon beef cattle, free range chickens, ducks, donkeys and goats.

Our now gorgeous Dairy Barn wasn’t always so beautiful. We do not have the exact dates on this barn but it is obviously quite old and is very interesting.

Our property has several other interesting and historic buildings.

Built in 1911, the farmhouse is offered as a place to stay for weddings, special events and vacations.

The site of most of our receptions and special events, this barn was designed to resemble how a barn would have been built in the beginning of the 1900s.
